RIP ‘Totally’ Tom Gilbert

Lifetime Avalon Beach resident Tom Gilbert passed away peacefully in NBH at 1.30 on the morning of 27 April 2020. ‘Totally’, as he was affectionately known, was a ‘man for all seasons’ during his life. There are many people on the Peninsula who owe a lot to him, especially if their car broke down during the night, they had a flat tyre or they needed automotive help in some way. Totally was always there to help. He was  active in the Avalon Beach community, especially as President of the Avalon Bulldogs and he worked tirelessly to support the MWDJRL. Tom was a Life Member of Avalon JRLFC.

Your webmaster well remembers ‘Totally’ serving customers and having a joke at his Total (later Ampol) service station which occupied the location where the Vintage Cellars is now.

APA offers its sincere condolences to Tom’s wife Dawn, 2 sons and daughter, and his extended family members. Click here for the Pittwater Online News profile.
