Council’s bulky goods clean up policies

Council currently has two different bulky goods clean up policies, one for the former Warringah LGA (two scheduled per year across the LGA) and one for the former Manly & Pittwater LGAs (pre-booked individual collection).  The policy for Warringah was formerly also the policy in Pittwater, but the old policy was changed some years ago.

NBC held a community engagement exercise in 2017 and recived over 2,000 submissions, although it did not summarise them.

APA wrote to the Council’s CEO in February 2018 in support of the previous policy (ie the one now used in the Warringah area) in order to minimise dumping.  We assume these two policies will eventually be “harmonised”.

Breaking news:  Council will consider tenders for bulky goods collection, by either method, at its meeting on 28 August 2018. Councillors will be called on to decide between the two current policies at that meeting.
